Officer Candidates Letters of Intent

Ben Gotz is running for President/Vice President or Clerk
"For the first two years of the East Ridge Theatre program, I, Ben Gotz, have held the position of Drama Club Clerk, and I could not have been more honored. Theatre has become one of my great loves over the past two years and now I can't imagine my high school experience. That being said, I have dutifully taken on all aspects of my position over the past two years and I have even created some new responsibilities for the Drama Club Officers (such as my founding of the LoftPAC Facebook page). I would like to keep being a leader in East Ridge's theatre program and make sure thatn us, as students, can do everything in our power to make sure we are outstanding, both onstage and off. I feel like I am a proven leader with good decision making skills and am very approachable, so if you ever have any questions as to what's going on at the Loft Stage or why you should vote for me, I would be happy to answer them. Thanks for reading, and I would appreciated your votes for me as Drama Club President/Vice-President or Clerk!"

Julia Reimann is running for President/Vice President
"I am very interested in running for East Ridge drama club board this year!  I would love to be considered for president/vice president!  I would like to be president/vice president of the drama club because I have a very deep passion for theater.  I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of my time in East Ridge theater and would like to help this program to continue being so amazing for many others.  I would like to have a bigger position in drama club.  I have found this year to be a learning experience as I have found many things that I enjoy doing and other things that I could live without.  I could not live without theater!  I would like to somehow get more students involved in drama club who may be interested in doing tech for shows and more actors but we could always use some more technically minded people in theater and they hold the shows together.  I would like to be more of a leader in our theater program, and I think this could help me achieve that goal.  I want to continue the tradition of the East Ridge theater family and get more freshmen involved.  Joining drama club is the their first step in becoming a part of the family.  I would like to share my passion with others and help them enjoy every minute of East Ridge theater like I know I do!

Olivia Kieffer is running for Clerk
"For the 2011 - 2012 school year I would love to be concidered for Loft PAC Clerk. I have had experience in leadership positions in my past: ex. Student Council President in 2009 - 2010 school year at Lake Middle School and Student Council President in 2006 - 2007 at Liberty Ridge Elementary School. I am very organized and would attend the meetings so I can take notes and upload them quickly. Please consider me for next year's Loft PAC Clerk. I am excited about this oppertunity and will do my best."

Ellen Martin is running for Historian
"I am extremely interested in running for the position of LoftPAC's historian for next year! The description seems perfect for me; I absolutely love photography, especially photographing events (ask my sisters, I take pictures at their parties all the time!), I am good at working with applications on computers, and as you all know this past year my mom has been fundraising chair on the theatre boosters, so I not only have my own creativity as well as my mom's for extra support. I am not only well qualified for this position because of what I can do... the main reason is because I love theatre!!! I wasn't really a "theatre kid" in middle school, but I tried out for "Seussical" last year and joined drama club, and what can I say? I fell in love with it! Theatre has come to be a big part of my life and I would like to keep it that way, and what better way than to be a LoftPAC officer? I would have a ton of fun with this job and I would be good at it too, and helping out with theatre is always enjoyable. I would really appreciate a chance to be your historian for next year! Thank you for reading this and I hope to be capturing LoftPAC history by being your historian next year!"

Joe Johnson is running for Vice President or Special Events Coordinator
"Hello, I am Joe Johnson, a current junior, and I would be proud to become the Vice President or Special Events Coordinator for the LoftPAC. I feel like I would be great in either of these positions because I’m a good leader, a good follower, and a good creator. This year has been a year that has really changed who I am. Becoming involved in theater is something I wish I would have done a long time ago because of the people I have met and the memories that will be everlasting. Being in either position will allow me to become even more involved in the East Ridge Theater Program and hopefully share my experiences with newcomers and invite them to join theater, whether it is acting of tech because in order to make a show great, they must coexist and work in harmony with one another. I can connect with people, make them feel welcome and help to bring out their inner theater personality. I would encourage students who are artists but maybe don’t want to be onstage to help with set crew and construction; let their artistic capabilities shine and make East Ridge sets the best in the state! I would also make events fun, exciting, and worthwhile. I am dedicated, imaginative, and fun and I would be proud to become next year’s Vice President or Special Events Coordinator of the East Ridge LoftPAC."

Pari Cariaga is running for Clerk
"When I first learned that I would be going to East Ridge and would be able to be a part of the new theater program, I was very excited. I have been singing and dancing and acting out all of my favorite movies for as long as I can remember. The Loft Stage’s musicals, one-acts, and plays from the past 2 years have always been the highlight of my academic life. I love everyone involved in this program and think of them as family. This sense of love is what makes me want to become the Loft PAC’s Clerk for the 2011-2012 school year. I feel that I could do a good job in that position because I am organized and know how to take good notes at meetings. As clerk, I will help to ensure that everyone knows what they missed at meetings, where they can find information on events, and just help make Loft PAC one of the best clubs on campus! So please vote for me for clerk!"

Mandy Durose is running for Historian
"I have been a part of Loft PAC since the very beginning. I have not held an office position before but have been actively involved in promoting and participating in theater events. I believe that since I have been involved with this theater program since the beginning I have grown to become a leader and would like to now help lead Loft PAC. I would like to run for any position but feel that Historian would suit me best. There is so much room for growth in this theater program and I have many ideas on how to expand. Previously this year I have been confronted by students asking questions about Loft PAC and becoming very interested. It seems as though many people are curious in the club but hesitate because they were not involved in past shows. A goal of mine as an officer of Loft PAC is to show students that the drama club is not a club for only participants in the musical, one act, or spring play. The drama club is a club for everyone who shares one common bond; the love of theater, in all forms. Whether it is the passion to be on stage or the creative mind to work on the technical aspects, you are welcome to Loft PAC. Another goal that I would like to achieve as a Loft PAC officer would be to reach to the up and coming. As we continue to strengthen our program we need to be aware of our community. As one unified group we should become involved with the younger elementary and junior high students. What is a better way to inspire those starry eyed newcomers than to make them feel like a part of the East Ridge theater family right from the start? I appreciate your vote and thank you for allowing me to help strengthen the Loft PAC program!"

Annie Zacho is running for Historian
"I would be honored to be considered as historian for the LoftPac drama club next year! When I first came to East Ridge, I never really pictured myself wanting to be a theater kid. I was always involved in band, and I thought that I would stick with just that throughout the three years of high school. When I was involved with our first production of Seussical, even with just being in the pit orchestra at the time, I knew in my heart that theater was a great thing. After seeing both sides, so to speak, with the technical aspect and of course the acting aspect of theater, it’s become a new passion that I totally love and can’t see myself ever going astray from it. I would love to be historian because along with theater, I have a passion for photography. You’ll always see me during a show snapping pictures behind the scenes to capture the wonderful memories made from the first read through to our closing night. They say “a picture is worth a thousand words” and for us, it can be worth even with what words can’t be said. I know that if I become historian, I will bring new and wonderful ideas to the table and be able to contribute to our drama club in many ways. With that being said, thank you for considering me to be historian and I look forward to the coming year of wonderful theater!"

Matt Thorsen is running for Special Events Coordinator
"I would like to be considered for Special Events Coordinator. I beleive I have the skills and talent for this position. I love to plan events to help the theater program become more than just performing, and getting more involved! Some ideas I have include seeing high school shows other than Woodbury's and Park's. I could bring some choices and we could vote to see which ones we'd like to go to! Another idea i have is "Inside the Loft Stage", where we have local performers from the Gutherie, or other places come in and answer our questions, and give us tips. Then we would have the trips to see shows at the Orpheum, helpful workshops, and events to help sell the musical! I beleive this position should be filled by someone with creativity, energy, and an outgoing person, and I have those qualities. Thank you for considering me for Special Events Coordinator for LoftPac!"

Alex Joson is running for Special Events Coordinator
"I would like to be the special events coordinator so that i can be more involved in the theater program. I am very good at organizing events and being in charge of important tasks. I think it would be fun to plan more events for the drama club, since we don't have that many field trips. I would like to go to more live theater performances, i think this would be good because that will help us get ideas on how to improve our performances at East Ridge. It would also be fun to plan more nights like "Gleek Night" from last year because it would give us opportunities to spend more time together and bond as a drama club. Please consider me."

Alyssa Wynn is running for President
"Hi, my name is Alyssa Wynn and I am applying to be president of the East Ridge loftpac. I have been involved in theatre since I was little. I love to perform and be involved In school activities and outside of school activities. Theatre has brought so much to my life and I love to do as much as I can to stay involved in it. I think that I would be a good president for many reasons. I love to perform and be involved in anything theatre. I have lots of great ideas about drama club and different things we could do as a club to help better the theatre program at east ridge and have a blast sharing a passion for performing! I'm in lots of different activities and because of them i am a strong leader. As president I know I could make loftpac not only a great resource for all members but a fun event to go to every month and something to look forward to. Because of my previous involvement and experience with loftpac I know what it takes to be president and how much work goes into it. I enjoy pushing myself and trying something challenging so this would be something I would be very happy doing. I would love to dedicate my time and my passion into making 2011-2012 an amazing year for the East Ridge loftpac and a fun year for everyone!"
